 Green Pahadi Foundation, in collaboration with Watershed Dept. Pauri, organized a Beekeeping Workshop aimed at empowering local farmers and artisans with the knowledge and skills necessary to establish and manage beekeeping ventures.

Key Highlights

Participants were introduced to beekeeping as a viable alternative livelihood option, with a focus on its crucial role in agriculture and environmental conservation. The workshop highlighted the economic potential of honey production, offering valuable insights into its profitability. Participants were also sensitized to market access opportunities, exploring the demand for honey and bee-related products in both local and wider markets. Strategies for packaging, branding, and promoting these products were shared to help participants enhance their market reach. The session concluded with an emphasis on sustainable and eco-friendly beekeeping practices, underscoring the positive impact of bees on biodiversity and agricultural productivity.

Project Outcomes

As a result of the workshop, participants gained valuable insights into starting and sustaining beekeeping businesses, which can enhance their livelihoods. The workshop also encouraged participants to explore opportunities for entering the honey market, thus fostering economic empowerment and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
