Green Pahadi Foundation has collaborated with the ETC to provide targeted, hands-on trainings and capacity-building support to local farmers. The ETCs function under the State governments at Regional level and conduct courses for rural artisans, rural entrepreneurs, Self-Help Group (SHGs), Gram Sevaks/Sevikas, Secretaries of Panchayats and Co-operatives, grass-root level functionaries of all development departments, in addition to courses for PRI members, members of Village Monitoring Committees at Block and Gram Panchayat level.

This strategic initiative focused on equipping targeted beneficiaries with practical skills in mushroom cultivation and food processing, enabling them to develop sustainable and profitable livelihoods.

Key Highlights

  • Conducted hands-on workshops for 100 beneficiaries, focusing on every aspect of mushroom cultivation, from spawn preparation to harvesting, and packaging.
  • Provided technical insights into food processing techniques to enhance the value of agricultural produce.
  • Distributed affordable mushroom-growing kits to enable beneficiaries to implement their training effectively.
  • Periodically monitored to track the progress and delivered ongoing mentorship and technical support to address challenges and ensure long-term success.

Project Outcomes

  1. 100 beneficiaries trained and provided a viable source of income, contributing to improved economic stability for rural households.
  2. The integration of mushrooms into the agricultural repertoire promoted crop diversification, and reduced reliance on conventional crops.
  3. GPF’s active engagement ensured beneficiaries receive timely assistance and guidance, fostering confidence and resilience.
