Green Pahadi Foundation has established a dynamic partnership with GEHU through an MoU to foster collaborative initiatives focused on empowering farmers, students, and other stakeholders in agriculture. As part of this partnership, GPF provided mutual technical consultation and shared its expertise in setting up a mushroom demonstration unit, which was successfully integrated into a 50-day Experiential Learning Program (ELP) for final-year B.Sc. Agriculture students.
The program adopted the pedagogical approaches of “Learning by Doing” and “Seeing by Believing”, providing students with hands-on exposure to agricultural practices and enterprise management.
Key Highlights
1. Mushroom Demonstration Unit Setup
- Collaborative effort between GPF and GEHU to establish an operational mushroom demonstration unit on the Agricultural Farm of GEHU.
- Practical sessions on spawn preparation, substrate management, and mushroom harvesting techniques.
2.Hands-on Training and Enterprise Development
- Students actively engaged in managing the demonstration unit, gaining real-world experience in mushroom production.
- Focused sessions on value addition, packaging, and marketing strategies.
3.Project-Based Learning Approach
- Students learned to design, manage, and evaluate agricultural projects independently.
- Development of enterprise management skills through structured project assignments.
